To get there, the author follows Alexander the Great's path from Gaziantep, Turkey, to the heart of the Persian Empire. Perse;polis and Pasargadae, in Iran. When Darius III is vanquished, the author's mandatory visit, required by the Islamic Republic of Iran, is to Esfahan.
